Minister of Foreign Affairs Salahuddin Rabbani on Friday warned that certain groups are trying to influence youths to destabilize the country.
He asked the Afghan youths to be cautious and to not slide into the hands of certain groups that try to pose threats to the country and people.
Rabbani stressed that these groups are trying to sabotage the ideology of the Afghan youths.
"The young generation should strive to work for implementation of justice in the society, country and the system and not slide into the hands of cruelty and be oppressed by an oppressor," he said.
Rabbani was speaking just two days before the anniversary of his father and said that many people had not wanted to see his late father Burhanuddin Rabbani appointed as head of high peace council.
"Majority of our friends were opposing Ustad {Burhanuddin Rabbani} to be appointed as head of peace council. But he had his own interpretation and philosophy about it and was saying that peace council shouldn't be meant as a post or position, it is a platform to serve the people of Afghanistan."
"How long we have to deal with such a scenario and how many more youths and people like Ustad should be martyred," deputy minister of information and culture for publicaitons, Sayed Muzhgan Mustafavi said.
The former Afghan president Burhanuddin Rabbani was killed in a suicide bomb attack on his home in Wazir Akbar area of Kabul on 20 September 2011.
